Satellite Seniors KHU Success Story
On August 23rd, KHU sent their satellite team of Kathy Fitzgerald and Rita Alvarez to
Lebanon Lutheran to teach fifteen seniors a Basic PC Literacy class. Their final lessons
were held onsite at the KHU center where students received certificates of completion.
Pictured below receiving her certificate, is June Farrell, the President of the Lebanon
Lutheran Seniors Group. She was instrumental in helping to coordinate the satellite
seniors classes at the church. She was also kind enough to present our most-deserving
teachers with a framed certificate of appreciation she made with her newly honed
computer skills.
From learning how to enlarge the font and how to slow down their mouses, the seniors
advanced to scanning and putting photos into e-mail. Juan Flores, shown in the second
photo, utilized the "Paint" program, which he really seemed to enjoy. Rita Alvarez grew up
with Mr. Flores's children and was glad to become reacquainted with him at KHU.
